The idea is that you answer these questions yourself and then post them in your own journal, so that having learned all sorts of amazing things about fascinating me, you can let the world (and me) know all about you!


1. What are your fandoms? What do you like to create or enjoy in them (fic, art, vids, meta...)?

Buffy, Blake's 7, Man from Uncle, Discworld. But the only fandom I currently produce anything much in is Buffy, and I haven't done a great deal of that lately. And funnily enough each fandom provokes different things from me – for Discworld I used to write very long character analyses back in the days when I was on alt.fan.pratchett; for Buffy I write stuff about structure and have also made a couple of vids; for B7 I wrote a few pieces of fanfic and for MfU I once wrote a teeny tiny piece of fic, but mostly I just lurk. And I'm an avid consumer of MfU fic, far more so than either Buffy or B7, but I couldn't say why.

2. What's your most embarassing/unpopular/far-out fannish love or opinion?

I'm keeping my most unpopular opinion firmly to myself because I don't see the point in upsetting people unnecessarily (and I don't consider voicing my opinion a necessity – just because I think something doesn't mean everyone else has to have their faces rubbed in it). Probably my second most unpopular opinion is that WiPs are the enemies of decent fanfic. In my not so humble opinion writers of WiPs have given up the hard slog of revising in favour of the cheap plaudits of immediate feedback, and as a result their stories get stuck at what is effectively first draft stage (there are notable exceptions to this, herself being one of them, but they're few and far between).


3. Link me to one post of yours (any topic - daily chatter, fic, whatever) that you'd like me to read. New, old, whatever.

I think you've probably read everything I've written on the Buffyverse, and stuff about fandoms one doesn't know is tedious. However, a sample of my other stuff would be this Discworld analysis , and this piece of B7 fic . The MfU ficlet doesn't seem to be online anymore.

4. Where'd you find my journal?

I used to love your posts on TWoP and one day I thought "I wonder if Teenes has one of these live journal thingies?" And lo and behold, you did! And you told me I should get one too, so I did.

5. What's the one thing you wish I'd post about? (Hey, you're bored enough to be reading this!)

Hee. More Buffy analyses!

6. What's a journal you enjoy reading (personal or community)?

I'm not into Harry Potter but nonetheless I really like what ajhalluk writes. Ditto black_dog, who unfortunately updates even less frequently than I do.

7. Share the love: what's the main author/musician/tv show/etc that you're pimping these days?

I don't pimp. I'm British.
