I've just watched the first episode of Sleeper Cell, and while it was very well acted and beautifully shot, something so horrible happened in it that I had to leave the room until that bit was over, and then watch an episode of House immediately afterwards because that was safe and formulaic and wasn't going to confront me with anything that would make me feel desperately unhappy.

So what I want to know is - and I suspect this question is largely aimed at [livejournal.com profile] executrix - are horrible things like this going to be a regular feature? Because if so, I don't think I can bear to watch it. If, on the other hand, that was just a nasty moment to make us all realise what our hero has got himself involved in (up to his neck, ha!) and the rest of the episodes are milder in comparison, then I might be able to peek between my fingers.

It's too early to say if I like it yet. The characters are just getting established and so is the set-up. I did think it odd that such strongly religious Muslims spent so much time in strip bars, but eventually chalked this up to the American obsession with prositutes, since it didn't seem to be a plot point.
