Mephisto, who up to now has been The Cat Who Walks By Himself, had a taste of the great outdoors today. He got hit in the face by a scary leaf and has decided he is an Indoor Cat, who much prefers sitting on laps to exploring the garden. When we put him out, he sits on the patio steps, waiting to be let in again. Mowgli, however, who is Mr Cuddle Bunny incarnate when indoors, gets a huge kick out of releasing his inner Shere Khan and explores quite fearlessly. He does come racing in when called, though (mostly because he hopes there might be food in the offing). Lucky is rather upset by the smells he brings in with him and has to lick him throughly all over before she can settle down again.

Today they get their final shots, and tomorrow we are installing a cat flap. This is necessary because one of them has taken to crapping under the kitchen cupboards, and I'm fed up with it. Shit is shit, no matter how cute and furry the bottom it comes out of. From now on, they're expected to use God's own kitty litter.
