Watching The Lord of the Rings with two horse-mad offspring, it was borne forcibly upon me that Viggo Mortensen can really ride. In every single shot, his horse is beautifully collected. Everyone else's has their nose stuck forwards like a rag'n'bone man's nag (including, I regret to say, Shadowfax). But Aragorn's charger is clearly being ridden by a king.
